Meet the Founder

Hello, I'm Lillie-Louise, the founder of House of Histories.

I'm a single mum to energetic three-year-old twin boys and, whenever life allows, you'll usually find me immersed in England's rich and fascinating past. History has always been more than a hobby to me—it's a lifelong passion. From medieval monarchs and royal dynasties to family trees, heraldry and forgotten figures, I've always been captivated by the stories that shaped our nation.

It all began when I started designing historical posters for my own home and for family members. I wanted artwork that was not only beautiful, but also told a story—something that celebrated history with the same care and detail found in museums and historical manuscripts. When I realised very little like it existed, House of Histories was born.

Every design is carefully researched and thoughtfully created, combining genealogy, heraldry, medieval symbolism and historical storytelling into artwork that's made to be admired as much as it is learned from.

My hope is that these pieces spark curiosity, inspire conversations, and encourage others to explore the remarkable people and dynasties that shaped our history.

 The Chronicle of Our House

“Every great house has its beginning. This is ours.”

House of Histories wasn't born from years of business planning or market research.

It began with a single thought.

One mid-morning, while making my three-year-old twin boys their usual Marmite on toast, my mind was occupied with nothing more than the ordinary rhythm of another busy day. Then, quite unexpectedly, an idea appeared almost out of nowhere—and then everything followed at once. In what felt like a matter of minutes, I could see it all. The name. The colours. The artwork. The atmosphere. I could picture the posters hanging on walls, the website, the branding, and even the feeling I wanted people to experience when they discovered them.

It wasn't simply an idea.

It was a vision.

As someone who has always been captivated by English history, I've spent years reading about kings, queens, dynasties and forgotten figures whose stories deserve to be remembered. Yet I found myself searching for artwork that reflected that same passion—pieces that were historically researched, beautifully designed and worthy of the remarkable people they portrayed.

I could never quite find what I was looking for.

So I decided to create it.

What began as designing posters for my own home quickly became something much bigger. Every new historical figure seemed to lead to another story. One family tree became an entire dynasty. One monarch became a collection. Before long, House of Histories had grown into a place dedicated to preserving history through art.

Today, every design begins in the same way—with research.

Hours are spent studying contemporary manuscripts, heraldry, medieval symbolism, royal badges, architecture, genealogy and historical sources before a single design is created. Every colour, emblem, flower and detail is chosen because it belongs to that person's story.

Our aim has never been to simply create wall art.

We want each piece to feel like opening a page of history.

Whether it's a legendary monarch, a forgotten queen, or an entire royal bloodline stretching across centuries, every poster is designed to inspire curiosity, start conversations and encourage people to explore the past in a way that feels both beautiful and accessible.

History is more than dates and battles.

It's people.

It's families.

It's legacies.

It's the stories that continue to shape who we are today.

That is why House of Histories exists.

Because memories fade, monuments weather, and generations pass—but stories endure when we choose to preserve them.

Memory Outlives Kings. Let None Be Forgotten.
